The following poem little bird was originally written by me in 1996. I loaned a binder to a friend with 13 poem in it to her and it was never returned. I do not know if the wording is the same. If you have that book please email me.

Little Bird

Looking to the sky

The young bird longs to fly

His wing is finally mended

Yet his sits longingly

Watching the other birds

Bring such sorrow

He thinks he’ll try tomorrow

‘Cause the fear is strong today

The young bird spreads his wings

They are strong and sure

Yet the fear holds him down

He cannot fly today

At last the time has come

He leaps from his perch

And flies a short mile

Close to the ground today

The fear pulls him down

Although his chest is full of pride

He starts his long walk home

Knowing on day he will fly

The little bird knows

The sky will be his throne

Once the fear is gone away

Even if not today

Remember the little bird

When troubles come your way

Because if your going to fly

You might have to fall
